Students who have mastery of both the Spanish and English languages prior to post secondary education, have an "edge." They can test out of their second language requirement and put their efforts toward additional passions, or they can test into higher levels immediately.
Younger students engaged in Spanish immersion often lose some of their learning during the summer for lack of practice and continual engagement with the language. Let Aliada keep the learning "fresh" even during the off-season.
Proficient reading and writing are crucial to success in school and beyond. Help your student learn to read and comprehend more successfully with advanced vocabulary and/or support his/her writing skills through targeted practice for generating ideas, organizational structure, voice and grammar. Get ahead on those college and scholarship essays.

After teaching both Spanish and Language Arts to over thousands of high school students, I have a toolbox full of strategies designed to teach and strengthen a variety of skills.
1A: "Prevent the Language-Learning Slump"
Utilize and build your language abilities, even when not in class. This package is designed for all ages of Spanish learners to continue to refine skills and improve comprehension, even when class isn't in session. Sessions focus on speaking and conversations, listening and asking questions, reading articles and longer pieces of literature, viewing and discussion and vocabulary development. The areas of focus will depend upon the needs of the student.
1B: "Spanish Language Mastery"
Get ahead or stay on track in Spanish language mastery. This package is designed for all-skill Spanish language learners who are actively working on acquiring the language in an academic setting. Aliada works alongside the classroom content instruction, bridging the gaps between misunderstanding and understanding and supporting the student with increased practice. The specifics can be skill based (speaking, listening, viewing, reading) or content based (vocabulary, verbs and grammar concepts, etc.)
2A: "Generalized Academic and Organizational Support"
Have access to a study-support person during the undergrad or university years. This package supports all learners in their generalized skills and/or organizational needs. It provides an additional "edge" when it comes to reading, content discussion, writing, analysis work, speaking, grammar, etc. Focus areas can be essay writing, reading and discussion, notetaking, proofing, speech prep and practice, study strategies... any skills a student needs help with, in any content area, this package will address it.
2B: "Essay Writing"
Tap into the creativity and love of writing by having your own personal "editor." Designed for students preparing essays for scholarships and/or college admissions, this package offers guidance in the process of writing engaging essays. From brainstorming unique and engaging topics, to developing the content, I will assist with all of the elements, including proofing and offering ideas for strengthening the content. Create a polished essay with the help of Aliada.

**Service 2B is a package of four 1-hour sessions at $500. Extra time required if student does not wish to write on his/her own.

My 35 years of pedagogical experience allow me to identify a student’s blind spots in minutes. Through targeted drills and ACT-certified strategies, measurable score improvements are achieved by focusing on the rules that matter most.
3A: "Grammar Intensive"
four 1-hour sessions ($500)
For students already scoring well but needing to refine specific English language ACT-style traps. This package is ideal for a quick polish and includes a deep dive into "Big 12" grammar rules, pacing strategies, and at least one full English practice test with error review.
3B: "Score Booster"
eight 1-hour sessions ($1000)
A standard package for average students aiming for a 4-6 point score jump in English. It covers full grammar and rhetorical skills, develops "Elimination Logic," and includes 2-3 full-length practice tests with personalized error analysis and strategic mini-drills.
3C: "Foundation Builder"
twelve 1-hour sessions ($1500)
A long-term plan for students who need comprehensive support to build a strong academic foundation in English Language. Best for learners needing foundational grammar work prior to looking at ACT-specific work. Sessions focus on vocabulary expansion and sentence structure workshops and step-by-step guidance through passages. A minimum of 4 full-length practice tests with error analysis and targeted mini-skills are included.
If student prefers to practice skills in session rather than at home, add additional tutor time at hourly rate of $125.
